Kim has over 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education working in day-care and preschools. Currently Kim works as a Pedagogical Facilitator with the University of Victoria’s Unit for Early Years Research and Development where she provides collaborative support to educators to develop meaningful and relevant practices related to quality. Kim’s journal articles and book chapters have appeared in publications nationally and internationally. In 2008, Kim received the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education and in 2004 was a nominee for the Vancouver Island YMCA Women of Distinction Awards. She is a Honourary Life Member of the Vancouver Island Cooperative Preschool Association.
Danielle has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for 17 years working in a variety of settings. She is currently sits on the executive board for ECEBC Victoria and is a founding member of OPEN, an innovative conference inspiring educators to take children and education outside. . She has been deeply influenced by the philosophy of Reggio Emilia and post foundational theories and has made pedagogical narrative a part of her everyday practice. She has mentored many colleagues and students with her passion for beautiful environments and her commitment to a pedagogy of relationships and listening. Danielle is also the mother of the ever curious and lovely Helaina who deepens her understanding about the competencies of young children every day
